A heart-felt thanks to all of our International Hot Lunch Volunteers
Thank you to all of the parents who participated in the Middle School International Hot Lunch.  The ethnic and international dishes provided by parents were delicious and indulged our students, teachers and guests with an amazing feast. Also, serving lunch to a hungry crowd would not have been possible without the many parent volunteers who helped with set-up, serving, and clean-up.  Your efforts were truly appreciated and helped make this day extra special.

Happy Girl Scout Week to all Girl Scouts!
This week, Girl Scouts across the nation are celebrating their 98th birthday. Be sure to check out the Girl Scout museum in the library display case, as well as the posters from our 6 HDS troops.

From the Health Suite
All students entering first, third, fifth, and seventh grade in the fall will need physicals (before the new school year begins).  Appointments for spring or summer should be made soon, as most doctors have limited appointment slots available for physicals.  Children entering Kindergarten need their second MMR shot before school begins.  Many eighth grade students are due for their Tetanus booster at this time, and may be considered to receive other vaccines.  Children planning on attending boarding school will probably need a meningitis vaccine.  Forms for physicals can be downloaded from the Harford Day School website.  Go to www.harfordday.org, click on “Parent Pages,” under the heading “Health,” click on “forms.”

Have something to sell?
Interested in renting a vacation property but don't want to contract with  "strangers"?  Check out the HDS Marketplace group on Facebook.  Post info/photos of your unwanted items or rental property, or find something you need with the ease of knowing it's within our HDS community.  All transactions will occur directly between the interested parties (not HDS).  Contact Susie Oursler in the Office of Advancement with questions.

5th Grade Community Service: eCycling
The 5th graders are continuing their effort to save the environment in collaboration with the Anita C. Leight Estuary Center.  They are collecting small TVs (No console or plasma) and ONLY small electronics to recycle. This includes CPUs, monitors, keyboards and mouse, printers, scanners, cables, power supplies, VCRs, DVD players, telephones, cell phones, stereos, fax machines, circuit boards, and video display devices.  There are drop-off bins in front of the 5th grade classrooms and in the front lobby until March 19th.  During spring break the school will be open from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday, and the drop-off bins will be in the front lobby.  If you need any clarification as to whether the item can be dropped into the eCycling bins, or if you have any other questions, please feel free to e-mail Nalini Potineni or Julie Stancliff.
